The possibilities of genetic engineering and cloning have given rise to huge ethical considerations - often dominated by the ways in which the new technology might be used in human reproduction. But the questions raised by animal biotechnology are far-reaching: about the relationship between all living species, about the re-design of nature for human use, about the future of farming and the countryside, about our use of animals in this research.
