Inaugural Exhibition in Ladbroke Hall, 23 September - 03 October 2004

Our inaugural exhibition opens to the public on 23 September 2004 and is followed by an eleven day event of tours, parties and happenings. For this exhibition 22 is working in partnership with Workspace Group, the leading provider of flexible accommodation to small businesses across London, and the landlords of Ladbroke Hall.

Ladbroke Hall is a grade II listed building. The building is further distinguished as being the first purpose built car factory in England. With its huge arched roof, marble floors, walk-round balconies and plasterboard pillars it creates a very eccentric and quite magical place to exhibit contemporary art.

The show is developed from within - and in response to - the space, rather than just filling it. Artists are involved at all levels of curation and creation so that the exhibition itself becomes a collaborative and interactive event, ultimately involving the artists, the space, the landlords, the viewers and the entire community in which the show is held.
